As energy prices and environmental issues become increasingly prominent, the replacement of traditional petroleum products with biodegradable biomaterials is gradually accelerating worldwide. It is expected that the government will issue relevant preferential policies and laws and regulations to encourage market application. The large-scale application prospects of biodegradable materials are optimistic.
Biodegradable materials include polymer materials directly prepared by biotechnology, such as polyhydroxy fatty acid esters (PHA). A class of materials prepared and polymerized by biotechnology, such as polylactic acid, PBS, polyamino acid, etc. In addition, starch-based biodegradable plastics, carbon dioxide copolymer aliphatic polycarbonate (APC), etc.
Starch-based biodegradable plastics are plastic products made by blending starch and other polymers after modification and grafting reaction. It can be used as packaging materials, shockproof materials, plastic films, food containers, toys, etc.
PLA lactic acid as raw material polymerizes to produce polymer material, which is non-toxic, non irritating, high strength, easy to process, shape and good biocompatibility. The product can be completely degraded after use. Therefore, PLA is a kind of bio environmental protection material that can truly realize the ecological and economic impact, and is an active and developing biodegradable plastic developed in recent years.
Polybutylene glycol succinate is a biodegradable plastic with comprehensive properties. With its excellent comprehensive performance and reasonable cost performance, PBS is widely used in packaging, tableware, cosmetic medicine bottles, disposable medical supplies, agricultural films, pesticide and fertilizer slow-release materials, biomedical polymer materials and other fields.
Polyhydroxy fatty acid esters are intracellular polyesters synthesized by a variety of bacteria under specific conditions. Bacteria of more than 90 genera have synthesized more than 150 different forms of PHA. The currently commercialized PHA products mainly include polyhydroxybutyric acid (PHB), copolymers of hydroxybutyric acid and hydroxyvaleric acid (PHBV), and copolymers of hydroxybutyric acid and hydroxycaproic acid (PHBHHx).
